Alfred B. Miller, d.bf.1950; m.1890; Rebecca Susan Connor, b.10/5/1856; d.ca.1950; Dau. of James Connor & Sarah Whittington; Alfred is a descendant of George Miller of the Indian Massacre whose family is recorded in "Samuel Newell of the Shenandoah Valley and His Descendants" although his direct connection isn't listed there. There is an old family Bible in his family that goes back to the Indian Massacre which it is told that the Indians (likely Shawnee) tried to burn it by setting it on fire and throwing a freshly killed cat on it to help it along. The dead cat ended up snuffing out the flames and the Bible was preserved. See newsclippings.
